Since the UK Building regulations changed In
2006, there is more emphasis on energy conservation than ever before.
SBEM Design Services Ltd are approved Energy Assessors that can can take the design provided by the Architect or other designer and create the data to submit to the Local Authority to compliment the Building Regulation Application at both initial and as built stage. We are proud to say we have BRE 'competent person' status and the Local Authority are obliged to accept the data we supply, hence smoothing out the Building Regulation process for you.
We can also provide advice on how to improve your building should it be found struggling to meet the appropriate BER (Building Emission Rate) and TER (Target Emission Rate) with the new regulations. All part of the service.
Non- Domestic Energy Certificates
SBEM Design Services are now accredited by the BRE to provide Energy Performance Certificates for both level 3 and 4 non- domestic buildings (either existing or newly constructed).
This is a complimentary service to the SBEM calculation process or can be used by building sellers or landlords to fulfill their legal requirements when a building is constructed, put up for sale or rent.

New Service - BREEAM In Use Auditor & BREEAM Assessors for Retail, Office and Industrial Buildings
If you are a property manager, you are able to undertake an assessment of your existing building under BREEAM In Use and review how it performs. The information will enable building owners to highlight areas of improvement of interest, in particular the areas of asset, operation or organisational performance.
The information can help lower the buildings carbon footprint, can demonstrate environmental awareness to clients and possibly promote higher rents for better performing buildings. What the client can't do is issue a certificate to demonstrate their successes without an audit. That is what we do.
We can help you at the assessment stage, and help you collect all the relative information required. We can audit your information and issue you with a compliance rating certificate and promote the building on a database held by the accredited authority to demonstate how well you are doing.
We are now accreditted BREEAM Assessors for Commercial property. This means we can undertake an assessment of a Retail, Office or Industrial building, taking into account its location, fabric, materials transport, heating, water usage etc to arrive at a benchmarked standard. The process can be long and requires a lot of detail but is beneficial when trying to examine the building to get a complete holistic assessment .

Swept Path Analysis
SBEM Design Services Ltd can also help Planners, Architects, Highways Engineers etc on reviewing turning circles, radii, turning heads and general vehicle movement swept path analysis. Local Authorities are being more demanding on Planning Applications and vehicle movements by HGV are being more of a concern.
If you need a swept path analysis showing the actual movement of the vehicle on your plan...look no further than SBEM Design Services Ltd. We use Autocad based software to plot and animate the project were necessary.
